“The protection of the right to life constitutes the indispensable foundation of every other human right,” wrote Pope Leo XIV in a message ahead of today's March for Life in Washington. Leo XIV warned that “a society is healthy and truly progresses only when it safeguards the sanctity of human life.” He praised marchers for advocating “courageously and peacefully” on behalf of unborn children. Pope Francis had also supported the March for Life. Actions speak louder than words However, Leo XIV is a proponent of the so-called “seamless garment” or consistent ethic of life approach. This idea trivialises abortion by equating it with other moral and social issues, such as illegal immigration. It was popularized in the United States by pro-homosexual Cardinals Joseph Bernardin and Blase Cupich. In a 2023 address at the 25th anniversary of the Universidad Católica Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo in Chiclayo, Peru, then-Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost explicitly appealed to this approach, saying …Okunengi
Pope Leo XIV sends a message to the US March for Life “I send warm greetings to those of you participating in the 2026 March for Life. I likewise express heartfelt appreciation, and assure you of my spiritual closeness as you gather for this eloquent public witness to affirm that “the protection of the right to life constitutes the indispensable foundation of every other human right” (Address to Members of the Diplomatic Corps Accredited to the Holy See, 9 January 2026). Indeed, “a society is healthy and truly progresses only when it safeguards the sanctity of human life and works actively to promote it” (ibid.). In this regard, I would encourage you, especially the young people, to continue striving to ensure that life is respected in all of its stages through appropriate efforts at every level of society, including dialogue with civil and political leaders. May Jesus, who promised to be with us always (cf. Mt 28:20), accompany you today as you courageously and peacefully march on …Okunengi
2 Samuel 1:1-4, 11-12, 19, 23-27 David, speaking of Jonathan: “Jonathan my brother! Most dear have you been to me.” The story of Jonathan and David is truly wonderful. But there is an even greater wonder: discovering the simple joy of God’s love within us. Mark 3:20-21 When his relatives heard of this they set out to seize him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.” When people fail to recognize the grace in someone’s heart, in this case, Jesus’ heart, they close themselves off to his work of peace. Leo XIV received Grand Duke Guillaume V, who ascended the throne in October 2025, and Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg - dressed in white - at the Vatican on Friday. The Grand Duchess is one of the few Catholic Queens and princesses with the “privilège du blanc,” permission to wear white during Papal audiences.
The Catholic parish of Guissona, a small town in the province of Lleida in Catalonia, Spain, has introduces passages from the Quran into its Epiphany celebration on January 5, during a traditional procession, reports InfoVaticana.com. The parish wrote on its Instagram account that the initiative forms part of what it described as an “inclusive process” developed over the past two years. This process takes into account “the religion of the different kings and pages” participating in the celebration. During the ceremony, passages from the Quran were read alongside the Gospels. The parish, which belongs to the Catholic Diocese of Urgell, defended the decision as a way of conveying a shared “message of peace” among people of different faiths. Furthermore, the kissing of the statue of the Baby Jesus was omitted. The parish explained that such a gesture was considered inappropriate for Muslims. #newsIeavpfurgw
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is standing room only. Thousands of pilgrims, hundreds of clergy, and dozens of bishops filled the church tonight for the Opening Mass of the National Prayer Vigil for Life — united in prayer for the protection of every human life.
Well they got a nice sized crowd in D.C. at least. From where I'm at, the "March for Life" was very low-key & downplayed. Used to be they sent all types of youth groups, seminarians, etc to the March. But this year- NOTHING except a mention at Mass yesterday, and that NOT even in the homily but only opening remarks and "prayers of the faithful" [General Intercessions] that made sure to "balance" the Right to Life with all sorts of seamless garment stuff like immigration, poverty, & mental health!
Novena - Oremus Like those in Gaza who kept saying Mass. And when they were praying while bombs were going off near their Church. That's how Priests should act. Not throwing Our Lord down the way this Priest just did to comfort anyone at all. The Mass must continue no matter what. Someone should have stopped the old man before he even got half way to the Priest.
Skip to content Six people were stabbed during a Kurdish demonstration near Opera Square in Antwerp, Belgium, on Thursday night, according to Antwerp-based Dutch-language newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws. Four of the injured were found at Opera Square itself, Het Laatste Nieuws reported, while two others were discovered on nearby streets before being evacuated to the hospital for medical treatement. “Two of the victims are in critical condition,” Antwerp Police Spokesperson Wouter Bruyns was quoted as saying, noting that four suspects had been arrested. The demonstration was organized by the Belgian Kurdistan Communities Democratic Council (NAV-BEL) in support of Kurds in Syria‘s Rojava region, who, according to Het Laatste Nieuws, called the attack “terror-motivated” in a late Thursday statement. “This is no different from jihadists who specifically attack civilians in the streets, at Christmas markets, or other public places. The Belgian government must acknowledge that Kurds, …

The share of adults identifying as Catholic has declined sharply across much of Latin America over the past decade. The number of people with no religious affiliation has risen, according to a January 21 Pew Research Center report. This marks a shift in a region where more than 90% of people were Catholic around 1900. The report, Catholicism Has Declined in Latin America Over the Past Decade is based on surveys of more than 6,200 adults in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru conducted in spring 2024. Comparing the results with a similar 2013–14 survey, Pew found that the Catholic share fell by at least 9 percentage points in all six countries. Today, Catholics make up 46% of adults in Brazil and Chile, 58% in Argentina, 60% in Colombia, and 67% in both Mexico and Peru. A decade ago, all six countries had Catholic majorities of roughly six-in-ten or more adults. Can’t do it without the priests. Any priest with a plastic tab “collar”: RUN. Where are the street preachers? The bishops confronting the government? Revolution for God is the only good one, and it is a counterrevolution.
This report from the Pew Research Center is yet another reason for us, as Catholics, to "go all out." Is there still anyone who doubts that Vatican II was a failure? and that the time is near? and that it's better to be prepared...
People with a conscience often suffer because of it. Not because they’re weak — but because they’re alive. A conscience won’t let you look away from someone else’s pain, it won’t let you sleep peacefully when something was unfair, and it refuses to excuse wrong-doing just because it’s convenient. Those who have a conscience think a lot, stay quiet a lot, and blame themselves even for things that were never truly their responsibility. They feel deeply, they empathize easily, and that makes them vulnerable. But a conscience isn’t a punishment. It’s proof that there’s still light in you. Yes — it makes life harder. But without it, the world becomes a much darker place. So if injustice keeps you up at night, if you worry about others more than you worry about yourself — don’t call it weakness. That’s your humanity showing.
A chilling show-your-papers society is taking shape right before our eyes, and ICE’s partnership with global data-collection firm Palantir is pushing it to the next level. Leo Hohmann Jan 19, 2026 EDITOR’S NOTE:This will be one of the more controversial articles I’ve posted, given the current political atmosphere, and some of you won’t like it. It will require you to think outside of the box set up for us by the gatekeepers who control the official narratives on the left and the right. It will pose difficult questions and point out inconsistencies in the official narrative.
Are we in a "NEW" world order united nations phase to replace the old world order united nations that is developing? We are responsible to think about the Israel first influence that is present in the United States "high places" and ruling class today that is overwhelming the "minds" and "hearts" of the elected political class; and let's also understand the "synodal/vatican one world religion" that is attempting to replace the ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, and APOSTOLIC CHURCH which JESUS CHRIST instituted. How can we not include those who are controlling nearly all the communications' venues and all of this is choking us and diabolically and devastatingly increasing the federal reserve enslavement system of our times. We can recognize and regard the truth that the U.S. citizens and our Constitution and the citizens of most countries are being ignored and undermined in too many ways leaving us beyond vulnerable to the so called “elite class” who are closing in on fruition for the plan for their …Okunengi
